Meet Conor Halbleib
I was born and raised in Louisville, and I am a proud Kentuckian. Growing up, I played football, and in school I was active in theater, speech team, and intramurals.
OK, so how do you pronounce “Halbleib”?
It’s German. If you spelled it the way it sounds, it would be “Hall-blibe.” “Hal” like “hallway,” and “bleib” rhymes with “vibe.”
In high school, I served as a volunteer for Louisville’s Indigent Burial Program, which provides dignified burial services for people who died alone.

I received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Louisville, and I am a Juris Doctorate (JD) candidate at the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. These days, when I’m not campaigning, you will find me riding my motorcycle and visiting Kentucky microbreweries and distilleries.
Please say hello when you meet me out campaigning!

Eastern Kentucky heritage:
Coming full circle
My ancestors settled in Appalachia more than 200 years ago. My maternal grandfather and his 11 siblings were born and raised in a 3-room home on Buck Creek in Owsley County, Ky.
The resilience of my forebearers humbles and inspires me. Because of the foundational values that have been passed down to me, I have been gifted with a joyful life.
I honor my heritage by running for US House in the 5th District, where I hope to give back to the places in Kentucky where my story began.

I grew up hearing family stories about the hardships and triumphs of my grandparents and other ancestors in Owsley County, including my great-grandparents (bottom right).
